The population of the region as of October 1, 2024 was 724.8 thousand people, including 484.8 thousand people (66.9%) - urban, 240.0 thousand people (33.1%) - rural residents.
The average monthly nominal wage accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activity) in the third quarter of 2024 amounted to $ 687.76, an increase compared to the third quarter of 2023 amounted to 13.7%.
In D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (Ust-Kamenogorsk), Kazakhstan’s first Luban Workshop was opened in 2023, implemented with the support of Tianjin Vocational Institute (China). The workshop is equipped with state-of-the-art educational and practical platforms for engine diagnostics, ADAS systems, electric drives, hybrid, and autonomous vehicles.
Key projects include: Assembly and tuning of a locally developed hybrid vehicle; Electrification of the aviation sector; Smart Mobility — development of a prototype electric scooter with a self-diagnostic function.
