Project
This investment project (hereinafter referred to as the "Project") plans to build a plant for the production of granulated feed for trout in the village. Bayserke, Ili district, Almaty region. A land plot of 10 hectares will be allocated for the construction of a facility in the Bayserke Agro Industrial Zone. The production capacity of the plant will be 6 thousand tons of products per year. The implementation of the Project contributes to the development of the manufacturing industry in the region, providing the market with quality feed at affordable prices.
Company
The KazBioFeed company was established in 2021 to implement the Project for the construction of a plant for the production of granulated fish feed in the Almaty region.
Market
- The Business Research Company forecasts that by 2026 the global animal feed market will reach $394 billion in value, up 44.7% from 2021. Aquafeed accounts for 23% of the global market.
- In 2021, fish feed consumption decreased by 26% compared to 2020 and amounted to 15.9 thousand tons. The average annual growth rate over the past 5 years has reached 43%. At the end of 2021, the share of domestically produced feed in the consumption structure reached 94% (14.9 thousand tons), and the share of imported feed - 6% (1 thousand tons).
- Today in Kazakhstan, 14 enterprises are engaged in the production of feed with a total capacity of 136 thousand tons per year.
- Favorable location. Placement of production is planned in with. Bayserke, Ili district, Almaty region, 10 km from Almaty. The location of production near Almaty will provide access to a large consumer market and a developed transport hub, ensuring prompt delivery to the regions of Kazakhstan. The region has an extensive network of railway lines connecting the region with the rest of the country and neighboring countries, as well as an international airport. Moreover, the plant will be located in the Bayserke Agro Industrial Zone, which provides the Project with the necessary infrastructure (gas supply, communication lines, water supply).
- Wasteless production. The resulting production waste will be used for the production of high-calorie animal feed.
- State support of the Project. Activities within the framework of the Project are included in the list of priority sectors for providing state support and obtaining appropriate benefits and preferences.
The Project requires funding in the amount of USD 15,220 thousand, including:
- 70% (USD 10,654 thousand) – debt financing (subject to collateral);
- from 30% (USD 4,566 thousand) - investor participation.
